Jeff is a native of Iowa and earned a B.A. in Biology from Drake University. He started his career with lab automation and software programming while working at Pioneer Hi-Bred (DowDuPont, Inc.) in the Reverse Targeted Genetics Lab performing ultra-high throughput screening. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1996, he worked at USCF’s Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases for Dr. Stanley Prusiner, the 1997 Nobel Laureate for the discovery of prions, and later as the first employee of Dr. Prusiner’s biotech company founded to develop diagnostic assays for Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy’s (TSE).
Since founding RoboTech Science in 2003, he has worked on numerous projects as a Systems Integrator, Software Developer, and Project Manager. Customers include Medarex (now BMS), Tecan U.S., Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, Merck, Johns Hopkins University, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, STACS DNA and a U.S. Federal Government crime lab.
