Systems Integration

Systems Integration is the process of assembling systems (subsystems, software, or hardware) in a logical, and a cost-effective way to perform in coordination to add value to an organization. Systems Integration is an aspect of the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) process, which also considers the human factors of how users will interact with the system to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Process Analysis and Requirements

The process begins with defining a concept of operations and translating business requirements into system requirements. Our integrators further refine requirements into a skeleton framework of the proposed solution and subsystem component specifications.

Continuous Integration

We establish a “build” process and integration schedule for sub-components, ideally using commercial hardware and software to minimize delivery timelines and cost. If required, the development of custom components and software begins. As each piece of equipment is delivered, it undergoes installation and operational qualification, whereas we functionally test software according to the master test plan developed for the project.

Hardware and Software that have passed component tests are ready for integration into the framework. RoboTech Science uses a continuous integration process that performs regression testing after installing each component into the skeleton to ensure proper error handling between software and hardware, components still perform correctly, and interfaces communicate as expected. We always test the full system functionality using simulated components for missing system elements.  We repeat the process until we incorporate that last component.

Performance Verification and Validation

The final performance test is performed to ensure the system is operating correctly and meets all performance and design requirements. The customer then performs validation testing to ensure the system is fit for purpose and meets the business needs.

We work closely with our clients to develop specific project goals, set realistic timelines, and mitigate project-related risks. We have the expertise and experience developing solutions in FDA, or ISO regulated, as well as biohazardous environments.
